Director Martin Scorsese is reuniting with actor Leonardo DiCaprio to work on a new project called Killers of the Flower Moon, according to Deadline.
The two Hollywood elites have had a long and fruitful working relationship that dates back to 2002 when they worked on a total of five projects, with the most recent one being 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street. Most of those projects were prestige dramas with Oscar ambitions and it sounds as if Killers of the Flower Moon will follow the same path.
Over the past couple years the two have worked on different projects. Leonardo DiCaprio finally won a Best Actor Oscar thanks to his tour de force performance in The Revenant while Martin Scorsese most recently adapted the Shusaku Endo novel Silence for the big screen.
With Martin Scorsese directing and Leonardo DiCaprio starring, Killers of the Flower Moon also landed Eric Roth (Forrest Gump) to write the script. It’s set to enter production next summer with a release date sometime in 2020.
