Steven Spielberg steps out of directing Indiana Jones 5

Steven Spielberg has stepped down from directing duties on the fifth Indiana Jones film.

It seems that for the first time in the film franchises history, someone else will be taking the directing reigns on a new film of the world’s most famous archeologist. According to Variety, Stene Spielberg will no longer be directing Indiana Jones 5.

While Spielberg is expected to stay on board as a hands-on producer for the project, a new director is being sought. The current rumors point to James Mangold (Logan, Ford v Ferrari) as the front runner for the project.

Harrison Ford is still the man to pick up the fedora and whip in this film, but with a potential director change, it’s highly likely this film will be delayed even further.

As directors go, Mangold seems like a good choice to pick up the whip on this one, and we can’t wait to see what he does with it should he get the job.
