In the wake of the final Rise of Skywalker trailer, Lucasfilm released new official images, and this is going to be one good looking movie.
It certainly looks as though J.J. Abrams is going to be playing with themes of light and dark. If you look at the photo of Rey (Dasiy Ridley) and Kylo (Adam Driver) destroying some form of black obelisk, it appears to be an Imperial/First order room based on lighting and other design touches. But the room is fully white, and that is not a color scheme we’ve ever seen these designs associated with.
It’s not surprising in the least that light and dark will play a major role in the end of the Skywalker Saga, but it will be interesting to see how everything resolves once all is said and done. Which side of the Force will win? Or will we see something in the middle? Only time will tell.
The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on Dec. 20.
