Motherland: Fort Salem is back for a third and final season, and you really had better be up to speed on the last two seasons before you dive in.

I’ve enjoyed both season 1 and season 2 of Motherland: Fort Salem, and I was more than ready to dive into season 3. Freeform only sent the premiere episode for review, which was a bummer as I was more than ready to keep going with this final installment.

A month has passed since the season 2 finale, and Raelle Collar (Taylor Hickson), Abigail Bellweather (Ashely Nicole-Williams), and Tally Craven (Jessica Sutton) have taken up with a group of Dodgers thanks to the assistance of Scylla Ramshorn(Amalia Holm). The Army is now in hot pursuit of the trio for the events at the end of season 2, and the Camarilla are also anxious to find them.

While this life on the run is actually a boon for Raelle & Scylla, and Abigail & Adil (Tony Giroux), Tally is using this time to train her powers more with Nicte Batan (Arlen Aguayo-Stewart). It’s looking more and more as if Tally is going to become a force to be reckoned with.

Season 3 wastes no time in setting up some interesting threads. It seems we’re going to learn some more about Mother Tongue, as well as some weird happenings back at Fort Salem. Not everything may be going perfectly for the school it seems.

With only one episode provided for review, it’s difficult to say how the season will rank overall, but for now it feels like a solid eight out of 10. If you’ve already watched season 1 & 2, there’s no question you’re going to want to see how the series concludes.

Motherland: Fort Salem season 3, premiere on June 21 on Freeform.
