Once Upon A Deadpool Reveals the Obvious Reason Behind its Re-Release

by Brandon Russell | December 7, 2018December 7, 2018 9:30 am EST

When Once Upon A Deadpool was announced, the film was marketed as a tamer version that anyone could enjoy. The truth is, the film is one big experiment to see whether or not the Merc With a Mouth can play nice with Disney’s squeaky clean image.

When asked by Fred Savage why the world needs a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool answers bluntly: It’s a family movie; also money; also Disney.

Deadpool has been a critical and commercial success for Fox over the past few years, making it a no-brainer for Disney to incorporate the character into the MCU. Once Upon a Deadpool will show that the raunchy character can still be fun without being completely naughty.

Will the experiment be worth the effort? Audiences can see Once Upon a Deadpool on December 12.
