Loyal Subjects at Toy Fair 2020: Mystery figures no more

by Sean P. Aune | March 2, 2020March 2, 2020 11:35 am EST

The Loyal Subjects has produced over 400 figures since it launched, and almost all of them were sold as blind box style figures. Well, that’s changing. The company is moving to a per figure sku system meaning retailers can reorder the best selling figures and you know exactly what you’re purchasing as a consumer.

It’s an unexpected move, but as completist collectors ourselves, one we welcome.

First up, anime is again a beloved genre of entertainment. Loyal Subjects will be doing its miniture figures based on Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Naruto.

The company is also going to explore doing standard action figures and will kick that off with Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Horror has always been a hot area for the Loyal Subjects, so expect more of those properties this year. You’ll see Lost Boys, Gremlins, IT, Buffy, and Big Trouble in Little China hitting shelves.

Other movie properties coming as well are Lord of the Rings and Napolean Dynamite.

Wrapping things up are new WWE figures including Andre the Giant, The Rock, and Ric Flair.

In a new addition, you’ll also see Loyal Subjects producing glow-in-the-dark Space Invaders wall decorations which are far more amusing than they sound in words.

It looks as though it will be a big year for changes for the Loyal Subjects.
