LEGO Movie 2 wins the weekend at the box office

It may have won the weekend, but it seems the shine is off of LEGO a bit.

LEGO Movie 2 took the top spot this weekend with $34.4M. While not a bad haul, it’s about half of what The LEGO Movie took in its opening weekend five years ago.

Second place went to What Men Want with $19M off of a $20M budget.

Cold Pursuit opened in third place $10.8M.

Fourth place went to The Upside with $7.22M for a new domestic total of $85.8M and a global total of $94.7M off of a $37.5M budget.

Glass landed in fifth this weekend with $6.42M for a new domestic total of $98.47M and a global total of $221.47M off of a $20M budget.

Second place went to The Upside with $8.85M for a new domestic total of $75.59M and a global total of $81.69M off of a $37.5M budget.

This week’s wide-releases will be Happy Death Day 2U, Isn’t It Romantic, and Alita: Battle Angel.
