A second Halloween trailer has arrived, and it seems safe to say this is the Michael Meyers we know and love.
What you have to keep in mind with this film is that only the very first Halloween movie happened in this universe. This means that the last time Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) saw Michael was when she shoved him out of the second story and he hit the ground. At some point he was arrested and has been locked up since that night.
In other words, forget about Halloween II in the hospital, and definitely forget anything else since that film. This suggests that the mystical elements that seemed to weave in and out of the series are gone, and it also eliminates Laurie being Michael’s sister. That story element didn’t appear until the sequel.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Halloween will hit theaters on Oct. 19.
