The devil of Hell’s Kitchen is back.
Netflix released the first teaser for the upcoming third season of the Daredevil series and it shows Matt Murdock embracing the darkness. Last we saw of Daredevil, he stayed behind in an underground tunnel with Electra as the building collapsed on them. Luckily he survived though he was quite beat up at the end of the series.
Fast forward to the events of the third season of Daredevil and Murdock has hasn’t recuperated yet. In fact, he’s gotten worse. In the short teaser, Murdock is beaten and bloodied but reveals he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I once believed that justice could be found in the court of law and in the light of day,” says Matt Murdock. “But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness and the truth is, I’d rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock.”
That doesn’t sound like a person who’s in a very good place. In fact, it alludes to some major trouble that lies ahead for the Daredevil, a hurdle he’s ready to face alone without the other Defenders.
Netflix hasn’t revealed when the third season of Daredevil will premiere but it’s expected to be released before the end of the year.
