CW orders Walker, Texas Ranger reboot and Superman & Lois

The CW announced on Tuesday that it has ordered both the proposed Walker, Texas Ranger and Superman & Lois projects to series for the 2020/2021 season.

It is clear that The CW has found a formula that works for it, and it doesn’t appear it wants to change things up any time soon.

As reported back in Sept., Jared Padalecki was working on a reboot of Chuck Norris’ Walker, Texas Ranger simply entitled Walker. CW president Mark Pedowitz, a self-confessed Supernatural super fan, made it very clear his network is where it belonged, and he picked it up in Oct. Now it has moved even further and it’s on its way to series.

Reportedly the new series will follow Walker as a widower and father of two returning to Austin after two years undercover on a high profile case. The series will see him also partner up with one of the only female rangers in the history of the elite Texas police force.

Over on the Arrowverse side of things, The CW also ordered up Superman & Lois. This new Superman series will feature Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch playing the titular Superman & Lois in the series. Hoechlin has been part of the Arrowverse since season 2 of Supergirl, while Tulloch began playing Lois during the Elseworlds crossover.

As we said, The CW has a formula and that definitely involves Padalecki and more DC shows.
