Rogue One Spinoff Series Not Filming Until the Fall

While filming for Star Wars The Mandalorian is well underway, don’t expect a second Star Wars series to hit your screens this year.

Following an announcement that Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor was getting his own prequel series to Rogue One, speculation was hot as to when it might air. Thanks to a new report from TheForce.net, it seems that the series isn’t even going to go before the cameras until the fall of 2019. Once filming is complete it will appear on Disney’s upcoming Disney+ service.

As one might expect, the new series will serve as a prequel to the events of Rogue One. We certainly don’t want to be the folks that spoil films for anyone, so on the off chance you haven’t seen Rogue One yet, a sequel series would just focus on a pile of dust.

No word yet on if any other characters from Rogue One will appear, but K-2S0 certainly seems like a logical inclusion for the series.
