James Cameron is currently working on his four Avatar sequels, but up until now they have only been referred to as Avatar 2, Avatar 3, Avatar 4, and Avatar 5. Camerons has been fairly clear these will not be the titles when they hit theaters, and now we may finally have a hint to what the other names may be.
The BBC is reporting that it has come into possession of a document that refers to four potential titles. There is no guarantee as to which ones line up to which sequel, but they are as follows:
- Avatar: The Way of Water
- Avatar: The Seed Bearer
- Avatar: The Tulkun Rider
- Avatar: The Quest for Eywa
It has long been rumored that the first sequel would deal with the water tribes of Pandora, so that first title makes a lot of sense as a possibility. There is also always a chance these are titles for novels, comics, or any other host of media.
With the first film still almost two years away, we still have quite a wait ahead of us to see how accurate these are if at all.
The sequels are due for release in Dec. 2020, Dec. 2021, Dec. 2024, and Dec. 2025.
