It would appear that HBO is going to stay deeply in the land of Westeros as House of the Dragon is coming back for season 2. The series debuted on Aug. 21, and across all of the various outlets it was available, racked up over 20M viewers in the first five days.
No information was provided on when season 2 may debut, but it will be some time to be sure. Season 1 took 10 months to film and that’s not counting all of the post-production time. We certainly would hope that some scripting is already completed so they could get back to work as soon as possible, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
House of the Dragon takes place centuries before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen. The House that clawed its way back in the original series was once the most powerful family in all the land, and now it’s time we learned how it all came to an end.
House of the Dragon is debuting new episodes every Sunday on HBO and HBO Max.
