It appears that Christian Bale may be returning to the world of comic book roles. A new report indicates that he is in talks to join Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Love & Thunder.
Christian Bale has a diverse acting resume to be sure, but he is most notably remembered for playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan‘s Dark Knight trilogy. Most recently he starred in Fox’s Ford v Ferrari.
Neither Marvel or Bale’s representatives are commenting on the report at this time. There is also no indication as to who Bale would be playing in the film.
Thor: Love & Thunder marks the first time a Marvel character has received a fourth solo film. It was announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2019 and it will see the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Taika Waititi will also return to direct having previously directed 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.
Thor: Love & Thunder is due to hit theaters on Nov. 5, 2021.
