Disney hit a total box office for 2019 of $7.67B beating its record from 2016 of $7.61B. There are still five more months to go. This is a stunning amount of money to think about.
The Lion King took the top spot this weekend with $75.52M at the U.S. box office bringing its domestic total to $350.77M. It has taken in $611.9M at the foreign box office for a global total of $962.67M.
Second place went to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with $40.35M off of a $90M budget.
Spider-Man: Far From Home landed in third place with $12.2M. It now stands at $344.45M at the domestic box office, and $91.036B global off of a budget of $160M.
Fourth place went to Toy Story 4 with $9.87M for a new domestic total of $395.62M. Globally it now stands at $917.92M.
Crawl hung on in fifth place with $4M for a domestic total of $31.46M and a global total of $45.86M off of a budget of $13.5M.
This week’s wide-release will be Hobbs & Shaw.
