An extended Brightburn trailer has arrived. Overall we only get a bit more footage here and there, but there is definitely some interesting new moments.
Written by Mark and Brian Gunn, and produced by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), Brightburn is exactly what it looks like: Evil Superman origin story.
We’re definitely onboard with this. Sure it’s the cinematic version of fanfiction or an old-style Marvel What If… story, but it’s certainly a fun one.
What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? In this horrific take on the classic superhero trope, a couple (Elizabeth Banks and David Denman) adopts a baby who came from the stars. While they attempt to raise the boy (Jackson A. Dunn) to use his powers for good, an evil begins to grow inside that he unleashes.
Brightburn will hit theaters on May 24.
