HBO has added another cast member to its Game of Thrones prequel pilot. Say hello to Miranda Richardson.
Work continues to progress on the Game of Thrones prequel pilot. While all eyes are on the final season of the series, things are still moving on the pilot for the prequel. Previously we learned that Naomi Watts had been cast, and now Miranda Richardson has joined as well. No indication as of yet as to who she may be playing.
Richardson has had a diverse career including turns in the Harry Potter films, The Crying Game, and Rowan Atkinson’s Blackadder.
Only one brief description of the prequel series has been released thus far.
Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.
Other cast members in the series include Josh Whitehouse (Poldark), Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans), Naomi Ackle (Star Wars Episode IX), Denise Gough (The Fall), Sheila Atim (Harlots), and more.
The final season of Game of Thrones will begin airing in April. The prequel series is still in early development and no firm dates have been announced as of yet as to when it may air, or even if it will go to series.
