This is part of our “Most Anticipated Movies of 2019” series where we take a look at some of the movies we’re most excited to watch in the new year.
We’re returning to the Pride Lands once more in 2019 with Jon Favreau’s live-action remake of The Lion King. It continues Disney’s trends of remaking its past animated classics with live action versions, this time going with its 1994 epic.
Following a young Simba, we’ll revisit his tragic story as crown prince to outcast to eventually reclaiming the throne from his treacherous uncle Scar. James Earl Jones is returning to voice his iconic role as Mufasa and he’ll be joined by Donald Glover, Beyonce and many more.
The first teaser trailer gives us a brief look of the iconic scene where Simba is presented to the Pride Rock animal kingdom.
