The Crown season 3 is on the way, and it’s time for a change in Buckingham Palace.
The original plan for The Crown is for six seasons with an interesting twist. After every two seasons, the actors will rotate out to more accurately portray the ages of the Royal Family in that decade. This season is the first with Olivia Coleman in the role of Queen Elizabeth II, and then in season five we’ll change monarchs again.
This season will see the Windsor family in the 1970s when the U.K. was in growing turmoil with labor strikes and social unrest as evidenced by the punk movement. This should be a highly interesting season for the series.
As Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman) faces a rapidly changing Britain, her family continues to struggle against the needs of the monarchy and the wants of their fracturing personal lives.
The Crown season 3 will debut on Nov. 17.
