Another weekend has come to a close for theaters across the U.S., and it doesn’t appear things will be getting better any time soon.

With Tenet remaining the biggest release since the pandemic began, things are not looking promising. Tenet took in $4.7M this weekend, off about 30% from its previous weekend. Considering it is the largest movie in release currently, and no others coming for weeks yet, these results are not remotely a positive sign. Domestically it now sits at $36.1M and a global total of $250.1M off of a $200M budget.
Second place went to The New Mutants with $1.6M for a new total of $17.7M. Globally it sits at $35M off of a $67M budget.
Infidel opened in third place with $1.5M
Fourth place went to Unhinged with $1.3M for a new domestic total of $15.71M and $24.38M globally off of a $33M budget.
The next wide releases are scheduled for Oct. 9, so don’t expect anything to change in a major way for several more weeks.
