Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Blu-ray Review

by Sean P. Aune | February 5, 2019February 5, 2019 11:30 am EST

Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch from Illumination marks yet another adaptation of his works, and possibly his most well-known.

This is another one of those Blu-rays where if you’re a visual person, or someone who enjoys behind the scenes talk, you’re going to love it. If you go into the film having not seen it in the theater, prepare for 90 minutes of blandness. The film is visually impressive, but the story is not the least bit engaging sadly.

The Blu-ray release is hitting stores on Feb. 5, and it is definitely a purchase for the extras here. There are a ton of featurettes and three mini-movies to give you a lot more bang for your buck.

Even with so many extras, menus are clear and easy to navigate. It feels so odd this has become such a point of contention as of late, but so many discs get them wrong that it feels like it must be pointed out.

Based on the Blu-ray presentation alone it’s worth picking up, and, as per usual, you will also receive the DVD and a code for the digital copy.

The Blu-ray is definitely worth picking up based on the extras alone.
