For the first time since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993, a cast will carry on from one team of Rangers to the next. The Rangers we’ve come to know over two seasons of Dino Fury will now morph into Cosmic Fury.
Russell Curry, Hunter Deno, Jordon Fite, Kai Moya, Chance Perez, and Tessa Rao will all return as team members. Behind the camera, we will also see the return of showrunner Simon Bennett and writers Becca Barnes and Alywn Dale.
“Since the first episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury, this team of Power Rangers has broken the mold of the franchise in many ways, so it is exciting and humbling to be able to continue the story of these characters in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury,” said Simon Bennett. “Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2 ends with some big revelations, and we’re so grateful to Hasbro and eOne that we get to continue to tell these stories in a brand new way.”
Part 2 os Dino Fury season 2 will debut on Netflix on Sept. 29.
It is unknown at this time if Cosmic Fury will be adapting an existing Sentai series from Japan or be something original. Hasbro has expressed an interest in doing something new with the franchise, but the name “Cosmic Fury” can very easily apply to a couple of recent Sentai series. The first to pop to mind is the recent 44th season, Mashin Sentai Kiramager.
Filming on the new season is set to begin this fall in New Zealand. No word on when new suits will be unveiled as of yet.
