Just how long will the Mandalorian be running on Disney Plus? It looks like it may be at least another two years.

While the wait for The Mandalorian season 2 has seemed to drag on forever, we know that come Oct. 30 we will finally see some new episodes. Fans are sure to be hopeful for a third season renewal, but an official announcement is more than likely still a ways off. Unofficial news from a star of the show is, however, always welcome.

In a new interview with People, Giancarlo Esposito who plays Moff Gideon shared some hope for future seasons. “We’re living in a universe that is huge and there’s so much to explore,” he shared. “So I think this show is going to lay the groundwork for the depth and breadth that’s gonna come in Season 3 and Season 4, where you’re really gonna start to get answers.”

What seemed like a simple story of a bounty hunter definitely seems to be evolving into something much larger. Where will his need to protect The Child take him? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Seasons 1 of The Mandalorian is currently streaming on Disney Plus, and season 2 will debut on Oct. 30.
