The second Downton Abbey movie doesn’t just have a title at long last – Downton Abbey: A New Era – but a release date as well. Originally the film was scheduled to come out around Christmas 2021, but it has now moved back to March 18, 2022.

The title and release date were revealed at CinemaCon this week along with a teaser trailer that has not been released publicly as of yet. Julian Fellowes returned to write the script for the sequel.

All of the original cast has returned for the second film and will be joined by newcomers including Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, and Dominic West.

The first film was released in 2019 and went on to earn $96.83M domestically and $97.84M internationally for a global total of $194.69M off of an estimated budget between $13M to $20M.

Downton Abbey: A New Era will hit theaters on March 18, 2022.
