CBS All Access considering more live-action Star Trek

CBS All Access has had great success with Star Trek Discovery and it looks like it may lead to even more shows.

Discovery has wrapped production on its third season, and Picard has been ordered to a second season before the first even debuts. A spinoff of Michelle Yeoh’s character into a Section 31 is still in development as well.

But why stop there?

CBS All Access head of original content Julie McNamara spoke at the Television Critics Association conference this week and revealed two more series are in development. She would not confirm which series they are, but one assumes one of them is the Section 31 series. The other may be a new series based around the Capt. Pike crew of the Enterprise.

Introduced on Discovery, fans have taken to these new versions of Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), Spock (Ethan Peck), and Number One (Rebecca Romjin) and want them on their own series. “We’ve definitely heard fans that people are excited about the notion of that,” said McNamara. “We have heard them loud and clear. We also thought there was incredible chemistry around that bridge crew so among many things that we talk about, that idea is certainly one of them.”

While Capt. Pike has an expiration date due to visions of the future, it doesn’t mean he can’t fit a few new adventures under his belt.

We’ll be there if it happens.
