The Invitation wins the weekend at the box office

It’s becoming that time of year when horror starts taking over the box office.

The Invitation took the top spot at the box office this weekend with $7M.

Second place went to Bullet Train with $5.6M, for a new domestic total of $76.2M. Globally it stands at $159.2M.

Idris Elba’s Beast took in $4.9M to land in third place with a new domestic total of $20.09M. Globally it sits at $36.18M.

Top Gun: Maverick flew into fourth place with $4.75M for a new domestic total of $691.21M. Globally it sits at $1.404B.

Fifth place went to Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero with $4.56M at the U.S. box office for a new domestic total of $30.76M. It stands at $56.98M globally.

This week’s major releases are Honk for Jesus, Save Your Soul, a Jaws rerelease, and Spider-Man: No Way Home — The More Fun Stuff Version.
