The Grinch Wins the Weekend at the Box Office

It looks as though the holiday season is off to a strong start at the box office.

First place this week went to The Grinch with $66M off of a $75M budget. Not a bad start at all and it should have some staying power as the holiday season marches on.

Bohemian Rhapsody took second place this weekend with $30.85M for a new domestic total of $100M. Globally it sits at $285.27M off of a $52M budget.

Third place went to Overlord with $10.1M off of a $38M budget.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms landed in fourth place with $9.56M for a new domestic total of $35.25. With its foreign haul it sits at $96.65M globally off of a $120M budget.

Fifth place went to The Girl in the Spider’s Web: A New Dragon Tattoo Story with $8M off of a $43M budget.

This week’s releases include Instant Family, Widows, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
