The name “Ten Rings” has been circulating around the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the very first Iron Man movie, and now it’s time for that to finally pay off. Just how deep do this mystical organization’s ties run in the stories we’ve seen? Have they been manipulating things all along?

And will we finally see the true Mandarin?

Marvel Studios has still not released a full synopsis for the film, but it looks like we have a good idea of where this story is going. And, visually, this does feel like a new departure for the MCU, and we can’t wait to see more of it.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Kevin Feige and Jonathan Schwartz, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers. David Callaham & Destin Daniel Cretton & Andrew Lanham wrote the screenplay for the film.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hits theaters on Sept. 3, 2021.
