Onward casts a spell over the top of the box office

It was a quiet weekend at the box office with Pixar having one of its weakest ever openings.

First place this weekend went to Onward with $40M domestic and $28M foreign for a global gross of $68M.

The Invisible Man took second place with $15.15M for a new domestic total of $52.69M and a global total of $98.29M off of an estimated budget of $7M.

Second place went to Sonic the Hedgehog with $16M. The domestic total now stands at $128.29M and globally it sits at $265.49M off of a $90M budget.

The Way Back opened in third place with $8.5M

Fourth place went to Sonic the Hedgehog with $7.99M for a new domestic total of $140.81M and a global total of $295.61M off of a $90M budget.

The Call of the Wild came in fifth with $7M for a new domestic total of $57.48M. Globally it sits at $114.98M off of a budget of $125M

This week’s wide releases will be Bloodshot, The Hunt, and I Still Believe.
