Marvel Studios is so excited for the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it started a countdown.
The next Spidey adventure will swing into theaters July 5, 2019, or in 240 days, 11 hours, 46 minutes and 10 seconds. At least that’s the time that was left when I was writing this post.
That countdown is just a fun way to create awareness for the new Spider-Man movie; it lets fans know exactly when the movie will open. But it also serves a purpose.
Marvel is entering the most unique year it has ever faced with three movies being released within a five-month period. That means marketing for each film will overlap. In fact, it already has. The first trailer for Captain Marvel was released less than two months ago yet all the attention is already turning to the first Avengers 4 trailer reportedly due out later this month.
Anticipation won’t shift that dramatically from Avengers 4 to Spider-Man: Far From Home, which might be a reason Marvel is already starting ancillary marketing for the movie to start building hype.
