Disney has released the second Jungle Cruise trailer, and we have to admit we didn’t expect the supernatural angle to it.

While the first trailer focused a bit more on connecting the film to the theme park ride, this one goes full-on adventure. And it’s almost impossible to not compare it to the original Pirates of the Caribbean.
Considering the ride is a series of corny jokes, turning it into a full-length movie was going to be a bit of a trick. It appears that the idea here is Dwayne Johnson‘s Frank is the prototype of the Jungle Cruise captain you encounter on the ride itself. The rest of it looks like a fun Indiana Jones-style romp with Emily Blunt leading the way as the adventurous Lily.
While the first trailer had given us a bit of hope for this film, we have to admit to being a bit more hesitant now.
Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE is an adventure-filled, Amazon-jungle expedition starring Dwayne Johnson as the charismatic riverboat captain and Emily Blunt as a determined explorer on a research mission. Also starring in the film are Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti.
Jungle Cruise hits theaters July 24, 2020.
