The Falcon and Winter Soldier series headed for Disney+ has just had a very interesting development. According to a report from The Wrap, John Wick creator Derek Kolstad has joined the writing team of the upcoming series.
The upcoming series will see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their roles from the Marvel films as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes respectively. The six-part miniseries will also see Emily VanCamp return as Sharon Carter, and Daniel Bruhl as Helmut Zemo. While no official release date has been announced as of yet, rumors are pointing to an Aug. 2020 debut on Disney+.
Disney+ is the upcoming new streaming service from Disney that will also be home to other Marvel series such as Loki and WandaVision. Unlike the Netflix Marvel series, Marvel Studios is saying that the series coming to Disney+ will have direct impacts on the upcoming film slate.
As of right now, no movie has officially been announced past Spider-Man: Far From Home, despite it being widely known that a Black Widow film is in production.
With the action-heavy pedigree Kolstad brings with him, it will be interesting to see how this translates to the small screen.
