After numerous attempts over the last several years, Kevin Smith’s Clerks III< looks to finally be entering production.

Lionsgate announced this week that it has acquired the global distribution rights to Clerks III. Smith has been in development on the third fim in the series for some time with Clerks II having come out in 2006. Preproduction is already underway in New Jersey with cast members Jeff Anderson as Randal, Brian O’Halloran as Dante, Jay Mewes as Jay, Smith as Silent Bob, and Rosario Dawson as Becky. The film will be produced by Liz Destro and Jordan Monsanto.
The story will reportedly follow Randall having a heart attack and then asking his friends to make a movie about his life and times at the conveneince store.
No release date has been announced for Clerks III as of yet.
