Ant-Man 3 looks to be a go with Peyton Reed directing

According to a new report, Ant-Man 3 has taken a big step toward becoming a reality as Peyton Reed has signed on to direct.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Reed has indeed signed on to direct. The plan reportedly calls for the film to shoot at the end of 2020 or early 2021 meaning a 2022 release is likely.

This will mark Reed’s third time with the franchise having previously directed 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. There’s no word yet on if Paul Rudd will return as Scott Lang, but it seems unlikely this movie would be moving forward if he wasn’t already in place. No word on the rest of the cast at this time either.

If these dates hold, this more than likely places the film in what will be known as Phase 5 as Phase 4 is scheduled to end by the end of 2021.

While it seemed as though Avengers: Endgame would be the end of a lot of our heroes, they can’t seem to stay away. With Chris Hemsworth suiting up for Thor: Love & Thunder, and a third Ant-Man on the way, we just can’t seem to shake these Avengers off.
