The film rights to Voltron were supposed to have been settled in March, but it appears the bidding war has dragged on, and Amazon is in the lead.

It was reported in March that a bidding war had broken out for a live-action film of Voltron. At the time it was believed that things would wrap up in a matter of days, but over three weeks later the fight appears to be continuing.
According to Deadline, Amazon Studios is currently the top contender. Rawson Marshall Thurber (Red Notice) is attached to direct. Todd Lieverman and David Hoberman will produce along with Bob Koplar. Ellen Shanman is co-writing the script with Thurber.
Voltron is based on the early 1980s Japanese series Beast King GoLion. Voltron ran from 1984 to 1985 in the U.S., and was rebooted by NickToon in 2011, and by Netflix in 2016. Live-action films have bounced Hollywood previously, but nothing ever made its way to production.
