I love Twitter bots. Good ones, anyway. I love the ones that do something that makes me laugh. That goes double for bots like the one we’re going to highlight in this post today.
Say hello to @wiki_tmnt, created by @__eel__. This bot “posts hourly Wiki titles that you can sing to the TMNT song!” The concept, according to the bot’s bio, comes from a great xkcd comic (there’s always a relevant xkcd).
Right, so this bot scrapes Wikipedia for article titles that match the syllable count for the chorus to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon theme song. Here’s the tune, for reference.
You get the idea, right? Wiki titles with eight syllables, throw them in the TMNT logo and readers sing along to the madness. The resulting tweets are incredible. Here’s a smattering of our recent favorites.
