Top Gun: Maverick and Elvis tie at the box office

The King and the Maverick duked it out at the top of the box office this weekend.

Top Gun: Maverick tied for the top spot at the box office this weekend with $30.5M for a new domestic total of $521.72M, and a global total of $1.006B.

The other top spot holder was Elvis with $30.5M at the domestic box office. Globally it sits at $50.5M.

Jurassic World: Dominion came in third with $26.44M for a new domestic total of $302.77M. The global total now stands at $746.5M.

Fourth place went to the opening weekend of the new horror film The Black Phone with $23.37M.

Lightyear rounded out the top five with $17.66M domestically for a new domestic total of $88.77M. Globally it sits at $152.37M.

This week’s major releases are Minions: The Rise of Gru and Mr. Malcolm’s List.
