Warner Bros. has set a new Tenet release date, and it will be making its way fo the foreign markets first.
As of now, a Tenet release date has been set for in 70 foreign markets of Aug. 26. These territories will include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, and the United Kingdom. This will be followed by a limited release in North America on Sept. 3.
No list of the selected cities in the U.S. has been announced as of yet.
This is a risky move for Warner Bros. to be sure. From situations as small as the closely guarded plot being spoiled, to full-on printed copies, it’s a risky move for a film with a $200M budget before you even factor in marketing. With multiple movies having moved to the perceived safer harbor of 2021, it’s unclear why Tenet hasn’t been added to that list.
Since the original July release date, Tenet has been delayed three times. There is no way of knowing yet if any of these dates will hold for sure.
