Before you ask, Birds of Prey’s official title is Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). The news was revealed by Margot Robbie, who posted a photo of the movie’s script on Instagram.
We’re not sure what kind of insight into the plot the title reveals. The definition of emancipation is: the fact or process of being set free from legal, social, or political restrictions; liberation.
Considering the legal trouble Harley continually finds herself in, the film could see her set free from the confines of prison. Or, perhaps, free from her identity as Joker’s best gal.
In any case, Birds of Prey will see Robbie reprise her role as Harley Quinn, who she played in 2016’s Suicide Squad, as she and a group that consists of Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) fight against Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).
With what appears to be the final version of the script in her possession, it’s likely filming for Birds of Prey will begin very soon as we head toward the film’s February 7, 2020 release.
