Mandalorian and Clone Wars Season 7 to Premiere in 2019

While most eyes are focused on waiting for news of Star Wars Episode IX, Lucasfilm and Disney are preparing to take over the small screen as well. We’ve known for some time that Star Wars The Mandalorian was in production, but we didn’t know when we could see it. We’ve also known that The Clone Wars season 7 was on the way. Now it seems we know when all this waiting will pay off.

Thanks to a recent article from Entertainment Weekly detailing the onslaught of Star Wars in our lives this year, it was revealed that both programs will debut in 2019. While we had learned that Disney+ – the service that will show them – is launching this year, that didn’t necessarily mean that the two shows would appear as well.

The good news here is that makes us think Disney+ may launch a tad bit earlier than we first thought. While Disney has said “late 2019” on multiple occasions, that could mean anywhere up to Dec. 31. With two Star Wars releases planned, and imagining some spacing between, we feel as though this could move the launch up to a Sept. or Oct. time frame. And that makes a lot of sense, especially if they plan to offer gift subscriptions. Get the service out there for the holidays so gift cards could fill stockings.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for the final release date announcements on these two projects.
