Live in Front of a Studio Audience was a success last year, and now it’s coming back for the holidays with two holiday recreations.
We thoroughly enjoyed the last round of Live in Front of a Studio Audience that saw Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel recreate episodes of All in the Family and The Jeffersons. This time around the show will return the holiday season and it will recreate holiday-themed episodes of All in the Family and Good Times. The exact episodes are not yet known.
With All in the Family in the mix again, it is unknown yet if Woody Harrelson and Marissa Tomei will again be playing Archie and Edith Bunker respectively. As they were the true standouts of the last outing we can hope, but they are also both very busy actors at any time. There is also something interesting to the idea of different actors trying on these iconic roles.
“The holiday season is the perfect time for families to come together and enjoy another Live in Front of a Studio Audience special on ABC,” said the network’s entertainment president, Karey Burke, in a statement. “Only Jimmy and Norman can top what they accomplished the first time. From the superstar talent to the unforgettable music and the richly deserved Emmy win, their collective vision has introduced a whole new generation of people to these groundbreaking and timeless stories — and now with Good Times as part of the lineup, this will surely be another can’t-miss television event.”
Live in Front of a Studio Audience will return on Dec. 18.
