Hasbro announces Cookie Monster Haslab project

Hasbro launched the Haslab project too much fanfare in 2018 when it announced the Jabba’s Sail Barge project. The project was funded with a few days left and they have all shipped out to their buyers now. Since that time, Haslab has been quiet with no new projects announced.

All of that changed on Thursday as Hasbro announced the next project, a 38-inch tall articulated Cookie Monster.

Cookie Monster is up on the Haslab site now, and his funding will run through 11:59pm Eastern on Aug. 25. Hasbro needs 3,000 to be ordered at a price of $299.99 for him to be produced. If they don’t hit the number, then no one will be spending quality time with their favorite monster.

Should the project be backed, you will receive:

  • Full-size, photorealistic, poseable Cookie Monster replica
  • 2 original artwork lithographs
  • Certificate of Authenticity
  • To-be-revealed accessory
  • Premium packaging celebrating 50 years of Cookie Monster

Product details include:

  • Height: 38 inches
  • Weight: 10 lbs. (of cookies)
  • Width: 20 inches
  • Depth: 19 inches
  • Fur: blue and tumbled
  • Eyes: googly

For the features included with this project, $299.99 actually feels like a bit of a steal. We’ve seen big plush of generic bears go for more of this in the same size range. With the skeleton this features, the price is more than resonable.

We’re not positive we need a giant Cookie Monster in our lives, but we have to admit we’re tempted. Check out the gallery below for more looks at Cookie.
