The upcoming Fantasy Island movie from Blumhouse is moving forward with two key roles being filled. The biggest news, for sure, is the announcement that Michael Pena (Ant-Man and the Wasp) will take on the iconic role of Mr. Roarke.
Announced this summer, Blumhouse is teaming up with Sony Pictures for a new take on the hit 1970s series, Fantasy Island. The series dealt with guests coming to the island to live out their various fantasies which would be presided over by the enigmatic Mr. Roarke and his assistant, Tattoo. The roles were played by Ricardo Montalbán and Hervé Villechaize, respectively.
The new series will see Michael Pena as Roarke, but no hints as of yet as to his assistant.
Jeff Wadlow is also officially the director now. Previously he had been rumored, but he is now moving forward and will also serve as an executive producer.
No word on a release date yet, but it seems that this film is indeed coming together.
