Coronavirus has struck another film production as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3 has had to pause work due to a positive case.

An unspecified Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3 crew member has tested positive for the virus. With the way most film productions are segregated currently, for the production to shut down it would requite it to be someone fairly high up hierarchy to shut down work.

“A team member from Fantastic Beasts 3 has tested positive for COVID-19,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson told Variety. “The diagnosis was confirmed as a result of required and ongoing testing that all production employees receive, and the team member is currently in isolation. Out of an abundance of caution, Fantastic Beasts 3 paused production and will be back up in accordance with safety guidelines.”

The film was originally scheduled to begin production in March 2020, but due to the pandemic it was pushed to Sept. 2020. There is no word as of yet as to how long the shut down will last, but it shouldn’t have much impact on the release date of July 15, 2022 if it doesn’t last more than a few weeks.
