The 47th Sentai series is getting set to make its debut in Japan, and it’s time we said hello to the Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger.

The Sentai – Japanese for some form of a military unit like a squadron – series have been running for nearly five decades in Japan now. On March 5, 2023, the 47th series will make its debut, a mere week after the end of the 46th series, Avataro Sentai DonBrothers.
The full plot of the series – which roughly translates to Majesty Squadron King-Ohger – has not yet been revealed, but each of the Sentai this time is the ruler of a different kingdom. Gira (Red) is an orphan raised in a castle town and is the self-proclaimed ruler of Shugoddam, Yamma Gust (Blue) is the General King of the technological land of Nikosopa, Himeno Ran (Yellow) is the Queen of the arts & medicine heavy land of Ishabana, Rita Kanisuka (Purple) is the cold-hearted ruler & chief justice of the frozen land of Gokkan, and Kaguragi Dybowski (Black) is the lord of the agricultural land of Tofu.
As with every new Sentai series, there is no guarantee we will ever see it come to the U.S. as a season of Power Rangers. Since we went to a two-season format in 2011 with Power Rangers Samurai and Power Rangers Super Samurai, we’ve been jumping over some different Sentai series. Hasbro is keeping the two-season concept but seems to be a bit quicker about it. We’ve wrapped up Dino Fury which is based on the 2019 Sentai series, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger. For the next season, Cosmic Fury, the U.S. will use original Ranger costumes for the first time, but will use the Zords of the 41st Sentai series, Uchu Sentai Kyuranger.
If the U.S. will ever use Japanese suits again remains to be seen.
