Avatar: The Way of Water wins its second weekend at the box office

Surprising absolutely no one, James Cameron took the top spot at the box office for a second weekend.

First place went to Avatar: The Way of Water with $56M for a new domestic total of $253.68M. The international total now stands at $601.7M for a global total of $855.38M.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish opened in second place with $11.35M, bringing its domestic total to $17.45M. The foreign total sits at $32.52M for a global total of $49.97M.

Third place went to Whitney Houston I Wanna Dance With Somebody with $5.3M.

Babylon opened in fourth place with $3.5M.

Fifth place went to Violent Night with $3.14M for a new domestic total of $41.6M, and globally it sits at $62.33M.

There are no wide releases or expansions this week, so don’t expect to see the list change in the following week.
