It seems that HBO just can’t quit Jon Snow when it comes to Game of Thrones spinoffs.

According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, HBO is in early development on a Game of Thrones sequel series that would focus on the character of Jon Snow. Kit Harington is said to already be attached to the series to reprise his famous character.
As the original series drew to a close, Snow learned that his real name was Aegon Targaryan and ended up killing Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons. When he was last seen in the series, he had returned to the North to take up his life once again at The Wall.
Up until now, the spinoffs from the eight seasons of Game of Thrones had been focused on prequels. There was one that did not make it past the pilot stage, but House of the Dragon – which will focus on the past of House Targaryan – will debut on HBO on Aug. 21. Should this Jon Snow series move forward, it could make a whole new stage for the franchise. There is a possibility of other fan-favorite characters appearing, or even for others to receive their own spinoffs.
Currently, HBO has three other prequel series in various stages of development. There’s 10,000 Ships with Amanda Segel as showrunner, 9 Voyages with Brune Heller set as showrunner, and Dunk and Egg with Steve Conrad. There are also animated prequels in the works as well.
It would seem that HBO has decided it’s in the Game of Thrones business for the foreseeable future.
