Wonka wins the weekend at the box office

2023 is drawing to a close, and the studios are racing to get those last few dollars of the year.

First place went to Wonka with $23.95M for a new domestic total of $134.6M. It has taken in $244.4M in the foreign markets for a global total of $379M.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom came in second with $19.5M at the domestic box office for a new total of $77.84M. It has taken in $173.6M in the foreign markets for a global total of $251.44M.

Third place went to Migration with $17.23M for a new domestic total of $54.32M. It has taken in a further $46.47M in the foreign markets for a global total of $100.79M.

The Color Purple came in fourth with $13M for a new domestic total of $45.3M.

Fifth place went to Anyone But You with $9M for a domestic total of $25.08M. It has taken in $5.8M overseas for a global total of $30.88M.

Night Swim is the first and only wide release to kick off 2024 this week.
