Netflix has released the Wednesday opening credits giving us our first taste of the series and Danny Elfman’s score.

With Tim Burton directing the series, you can always expect darkness, and Danny Elfman to show up to write some music. It looks as though we will be getting plenty of both from Wednesday.

Netflix has revealed that the series is taking its designs directly from Charles Addams’ original cartoons this time and not from any previous TV or movie iterations.

Tim Burton is directing the series, so we’re sure it will be quite the ride.

Jenna Ortega will is playing the teenager, and she will be joined by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, and more. The inclusion of Ricci is quite interesting as she played Wednesday in both The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. This trailer also announces that Fred Armisen is playing Uncle Fester.

From the imagination of Tim Burton comes WEDNESDAY — a twisted new series coming soon to Netflix. WEDNESDAY — starring Jenna Ortega in the title role, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci and more — is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Snap snap.

Wednesday will debut on Netflix on November 23.
