Top Gun: Maverick took the top spot at the box office this weekend with the biggest opening of Tom Cruise’s career.

First place went to Top Gun: Maverick with $124M across the three day weekend. It took in a further $124M in the foreign markets for a global opening of $248M.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness took second place with $16.4M for a new domestic total to $370.77M. The global total now stands at $868.67M.
Third place went to The Bob’s Burgers Movie with $12.6M.
Downton Abbey: A New Era landed in fourth place with $5.9M. Domestically it sits at $28.47M and globally it now stands at $68.98M.
Fifth place went to The Bad Guys with $4.63M for a new domestic total of $81.37M. Its global total stands at $197.56M.
This week’s major releases are Crimes of the Future and Watcher.
